25.07.2010 North Berwick revisited (again)

The lure of irrestable fish and chips became too strong once again, so we decided to convince our friend Craig, visiting from Bath, that North Berwick is a really nice place to visit. Luckily he did actually like it there, enough at least to be shooting some photos! He was particularly impressed with Bass Rock, which has it famous white 'coating' back after being nearly clean in early spring.
We walked from Yellowcraig to North Berwick along the beach on a nice calm day with nearly no wind, the sea being a silver mirror.

Iwona and Craig are old friends from their salsa days. They are posing here in front of the Nort Berwick golf course, which proved a bit of a distraction for Cees-Jan and Craig, who couldn't help but study each hole in great detail to determine what shots to play if they ever had the chance to play there!

Ah, one can never get enough from Bass Rock.... We found out today that there are boat tours to watch the birds on the island, which is definitively something we are going to do soon. In the meantime, we'll have to satisfy ourselves by staring at it from a distance...

After an hours walk we finally made it to North Berwick. To our surprise it was invaded by little green flies, probably due to the windless and overcast weather. Good thing there weren't any midgets! In any case, we had our fish and chips quickly and got out of there! No doubt we'll be back soon....
